Some of the surgeries that a local orthopedic surgeon might perform include hip replacement or knee replacements due to arthritis, ankylosing spondylosis surgery, gout surgery and thumb arthritis surgery. The meniscus is often injured as athletes attempt a twisting or weight-bearing motion (other common knee injuries from sports include ACL and MCL injury). Meniscus injuries are more common for people over the age of 30, as the meniscus weakens as we age. They can also occur as a result of diseases such as osteoarthritis. Symptoms of a meniscus tear include pain on one side of the knee, localized swelling, loss of range of motion and a sensation of the hip locking or not being able to straighten it completely. If surgery is required, an orthopedic surgeon will perform arthroscopic surgery to prevent further damage to the knee. Meniscus surgery is generally a day procedure, with patients going home on crutches. The recovery time is usually around two weeks.

Please contact ( Dr. Stephen Burnett, Local Orthopedic Surgeon Victoria, BC ) to enquire if this health care provider is accepting new patients. A local Orthopedic Surgeon treats carpal tunnel syndrome is compression of the median nerve in the wrist. The median nerve gives feeling to the thumb, the index finger, the long finger, and half of the ring finger. The carpal tunnel is covered by a ligament called a transverse retinacular ligament. When there is swelling in this area, it puts pressure onto the retinaculum, leading to carpal tunnel syndrome.   Always talk with your Local Orthopedic Surgeon about the information you learnt from the videos in regards to treatments and procedures the Local Orthopedic Surgeon  could  perform and if they would be appropriate for you.

Recovery after knee replacement surgery typically involves a period of physical therapy and rehabilitation to help regain strength, flexibility, and mobility in the knee joint. Most people experience significant pain relief and improvement in their ability to perform daily activities after undergoing knee replacement surgery. However, it's important to note that individual outcomes may vary, and the success of the procedure depends on various factors, including the individual's overall health and adherence to post-operative care instructions.

I have read what other people have said about Dr. Burnett, and now I am going to tell you the honest truth about this Dr. Is he busy? Yes he is busy. If you check the surgical list you will see that he does more knee surgery's than any other doctors. When you go to meet him, just remember he is there to let you know how and if he can help you. He is not there to be your friend or entertain you. Is he good at what he does? In a word YES!!! He has replaced two knees for me over the last two years and I couldn't be happier with the results. But what you all have to realize when you sign up for a replacement, is that a great doctor is only part of it. You, yourself have to take the bull by the horns and work hard to bring back your movement, and not just for a number of weeks. This is an ongoing part that you have to take on "If you want your life back". I have mine back, and at 67 I'm looking forward to a healthy and happy seniors life. So all I'm saying is, don't blame the doctor if you are not working hard and doing your part in all this. I would refer Dr. Burnett to anyone who needs help like I did.

I understand the mandate of Rebalance is to provide surgery in a timely manner. I waited almost 5 months for a hip replacement. It is my belief there is insufficient opportunity to discuss a medical condition with Dr. Burnett, since he gives a patient the feeling that he is too busy to impart any information about pending surgery, or after care. His staff was most helpful, but accessing information from staff members is difficult. I can't understand why emails are sent out with a one time passcode, and I wonder how many of his patients are confused and stressed by the videos, emails, and lack of appointment choices re: time and date. There is no doubt Stephen Burnett is a brilliant surgeon, but a little more "personal touch" would be helpful
